The Sitar is one of the most common instruments in Indian Classical music ensemble. Featuring 7 primary plus 11 sympathetic strings, this instrument creates a rich and authentic tone. This hand carved instrument has been carefully decorated, including a wonderfully designed peg box. The sitar also comes with a soft carry bag as well as a hard protective wooden case.

The Sitar by Gear4music has seven main steel strings that run over the raised frets. The remaining 11 strings are sympathetic strings (or taraf tar), which when tuned, resonate in correspondence to the main strings. This is enhanced by the hand carved size 12 wooden kadu ka tumba (body). This authentic sounding instrument will fit in perfectly with any Indian Classical music ensemble
This sitar has been carefully hand crafted by master technicians and the result is a hugely decorative instrument that looks authentic and is unique to any other. The kunti (tuning pegs) have been intricately made as has the head of the instrument to give a classy look.
The sitar comes with both a hard case and a soft gig bag. The heavy duty case has been made from solid wood, which has been covered in a vinyl finish. The inside is moulded to give ultimate protection and layered in a red plush fabric. The case also includes to lockable shutters which can keep the instrument very safe. The soft gig bag is great for portability and features two carry handles.
