The PSound Bandoneon is a virtual reproduction of the historic Bandoneon made in Germany in the 50s by Alfred Arnold. Although bandoneons do not have the register switches common on accordions, tone can be changed a great deal using varied bellows pressure and overblowing, creating the potential for expressive playing and diverse timbres. PSound has implemented the dynamic expressivity of the Bandoneon in virtual form, so you can capture its distinctive sound with ease.
All the sounds of the Bandoneon are meticulously recorded with a 96kHz sample rate and 24-bit resolution. All samples are perfectly looped, so you can get straight to performance with a cohesive and musical tone. Four velocity layers with two round-robin versions per layer offer dynamic playability, resulting in natural variations in otherwise static patterns. Furthermore, key-on and key-off noises as well as adjustable volume for reeds and noise inject a sense of realism and physicality into this virtual instrument.
