Every 303-style synth in one plug-in
As any owner of a hardware 303-style bass synthesizer will tell you, no two units sound the same. Parts tolerance and age degradation can affect hardware in different ways creating sounds and response that is unique to the hardware. Knowing this, the D16 Phoscyon 2 features a newly-implemented Calibration Parameters section, allowing you to virtually tweak the inner components, trim parts and more to craft the perfect sound for your mix and project. Alongside the parameters you will find on an original 303-style bass synth, Phoscyon 2 also includes a variety of popular aftermarket modifications and circuit bend parameters that can traverse your sound into completely new territories.
The new way to create
A rare yet highly creative effect for Phoscyon 2 is the inclusion of a vibrato effect. Used only by a handful of 303 artists, combining your bass synthesis with a vibrato can create unique and experimental sounds, unlike anything you've heard before. Originally, vibrato was achieved with two notes played in unison with note sliding however in Phoscyon 2, using only two parameters you can adjust the vibrato range and speed.
State-of-the-art FX chains
Boasting a range of high-quality FX to add movement, control the dynamics and sculpt your sound to your mix, Phoscyon gives you all the tools you need for professional sound. Highly customisable with rearrangeable routing, you can create your own custom signal path to make the sound in your head a reality. Comprised of an algorithmic reverb, four-band parametric EQ, tempo-sync delay with in-loop multi-mode filters, dual-mode chorus and limiter, you have complete control over your sound. Most importantly of all, Phoscyon 2 features 19 different modes of distortion, all based on famous hardware units to ensure you can achieve the signal gritty bass sounds in heard in classic Acid or Jungle tunes.
Suitable for the stage and studio
Boasting a re-designed sequencer/arpeggiator, Phoscyon is now more performance friendly than ever before. On-the-fly pattern adjustment is made simple through two viewing modes and pairs with live and looping possibilities. Comprehensive MIDI compatibility makes changing between your patterns simple, allowing you to use traditional MIDI controllers or DAW automation, helping to seamlessly fit into your live or studio setup.
See where you are with one glance. Some hardcore 303 fans have learned to love the limitations of the original sequencer and now consider them part of their workflow. Others prefer a more modern approach to sequence editing. To meet the needs of both types of people, Phoscyon 2 features two different modes to control the sequencer.
Not only has workflow and adjustability been adjusted, Phoscyon 2 lets you play musical roulette with your grooves and patterns. A new randomizer feature seamlessly integrates into the internal sequencer, allowing you to relinquish creative control for unexpected, exciting and unique performances.
