The Kyra is a synthesis beast. With 128 voices of FPGA based synthesis, regardless of all the settings and effects available, the Kyra is capable of creating entire galaxies of sound and noise. FPGA's are very powerful chips, and their main benefit is that they can be deployed and then updated after the fact. Being able to keep your synthesizer in the best possible state. Waldorf could update your synthesizer with the latest software technology so that your synthesizer is always at the cutting edge. They're also cheap and powerful, which means your getting the power of a super high-end synthesizer at a significantly lower price.
Each voice features 10 oscillators and includes eight-part timbrality. Meaning the scope for sound shaping is exceptionally deep. Any sound is possible, from classic instruments like brass, strings and piano. To otherworldly pads and pulsing trance basses, it's all possible. Nothing like the Kyra is out there. The Kyra's incredible level of synthesis power means it can tackle any challenge you throw at it.
The Kyra features incredible state-of-the-art audio quality. Thanks to the 32x oversample hardware with dual wavetables. This engine is capable of generating over 4,000 waveshapes. Each voice features, true stereo operation, hard sync, frequency modulation, and ring modulation. As well as the powerful audio engine, the Kyra also features a seriously impressive filtering stage. The oversample emulations of the classic analog ladder filters come with 2- and 4-pole configurations. Link them up in Dual Voice Mode to increase creative scope.
The nine-module effects unit features three band eq that's completely sweepable and also comes with all the features you would expect. Formant filters, distortion, digital delay in stereo and of course, a programmable reverb. Running at 96kHz sample rate, the Kyra is able to generate any sound you can imagine. Each of the eight-part timbrality is able to utilise its own effects processes as there is a nine-module effects unit for each one. This gives you unprecedented levels of sonic depth.
The Waldorf Kyra features more connectivity options than you will ever need. There are four assignable balanced 32-bit stereo outputs, low latency DIN MIDI, USB2 for MIDI, a stereo 24-bit audio stream for each of its eight parts. The Kyra also features a USB audio return feature so Kyra can render final DAW information, meaning you can use Kyra in any setup and it will adapt. And of course, there is a headphone output too.
