The Buchla & Tiptop Audio 292T Quad Lopass Gate Model breathes new life into the iconic 292 module from Buchla, providing a faithful recreation of the original and converted into the Eurorack format. Designed in collaboration with Don Buchla, the 292T replicates the spectral and amplitude characteristics of the original 292, acting as a keystone in capturing that classic acoustic-style sound Buchla is renowned for.

Combining a mixer, filter, gate and VCA; the 292T is a sound designer's dream, offering multiple ways to shape and interact with sounds. Running waveforms through the four-part low-pass gate allows you to unlock acoustic-like qualities. The tone of the input sound is determined by the strength of the control signal, resulting in darker/brighter sounds depending on the input signal. The thing that made this Buchla module stand out from the crowd was the ability to impart dynamic tonal variation resulting in a more natural sound.

The versatile design means you can use it for a variety of applications from simple modulation to advanced sound shaping. You can even achieve the classic 'Buchla bongo' tone by sending short triggers, eliminating the need for external envelopes. You can also use the module to mix up to four mono signals.
