The Fillmore 25 Combo features Celestion's Custom 90 speaker to give it plenty of projection for the stage. The Custom 90 - also known as the Black Shadow - is a Mesa exclusive, offering a thick, robust low-end. It's widely used on their open-back cabs and combos due to the sheer amount of bass it offers.
As a versatile speaker, the Custom 90 will suit a wide range of playing styles and music genres. Its stunning voice and dynamic response make it ideal for lead work. It also offers plenty of headroom to let you hear the nuances of your playing. Overall, the Fillmore will inject your performance with an abundance of high bass and low mids, an authoritative mid-range attack, and an assertive high-end.
To deliver an incredibly versatile performance, the Fillmore 25 is equipped with two identical channels. Not only can you set up your lead and rhythm tones (which you can effortlessly switch between with the included footswitch), but you can also dial in the same sounds for both and increase the volume on one channel to act as a booster. Experiment to your hearts content.
Both channels also offer three modes to choose from, giving you a variety of beautifully vintage voices and an array of different tonal combinations. While clean gives you a bright, pristine tone, drive mode adds rich harmonics and strong dynamics to your performance. These two sounds are ideal for bringing the subtle tones of your playing to light, letting you be as expressive as possible.
HI mode takes your performance back to the 70s and 80s, offering you that classic crunchy tone the British amps that shaped those eras featured. Selecting this voice provides you with a wide range of saturated tones, injecting your playing with an incredibly warm and rounded soundscape.
For the ultimate control over your sound, both channels on the Fillmore feature their own control sections. The two most powerful controls are the gain and treble. While the gain changes the character of your sound, the treble lets you shape the overall tone - unlike normal trebles which only shape the high-end.
The bass, mid, and presence gives you control over the low, middle, and high frequencies. Dial in these knobs to fine tune your tone to match any environment… Or create something new and interesting. Both channels also have access to an on-board analogue spring reverb, letting you add luscious ambient reverb to your performance
