This Westbury antiqued violin boasts a maple back and sides, with a spruce top. These traditional tonewoods are the same that are used in top-of-the-line, professional models - delivering a rich, vintage sound. The body is carved by hand to give every violin a special character and optimum tone. From there, the instrument is hand-brushed with an antiqued spirit, protecting the craftsmanship and giving your violin a gorgeous natural finish.

Ebony fittings are another premium feature more commonly found on professional instruments. This violin features an ebony fingerboard, chinrest, top nut, and tuning pegs. This robust material is highly resistant to the natural oils from your skin, and provides an extremely comfortable and fluid playing experience.

Larsen Aurora strings

The Westbury antiqued violin comes professionally set-up with Larsen Aurora strings. Just like all Larsen string sets, Larsen Aurora strings offer an impressive response and playing characteristics. The combination of synthetic and steel cores alongside aluminium and silver windings have made these strings the new first choice for educators, students, and professional musicians alike.

Everything you need

To ensure you have the best possible experience, Westbury have included everything you'll need to get started. This outfit includes a quality bow, made with an octagonal bulletwood stick, an ebony frog, and unbleached, natural white horsehair. These traditional materials provide a rich tone and an effortless playing experience. Rosin is also included.

In order to keep your new violin and bow safe, this outfit includes a green, two-tone oblong case. Made from hardened styrofoam, this case offers extreme protection for your instrument and is incredibly lightweight, for an easy carrying experience. The outside of the case features a full-length pocket - ideal for your sheet music.

Carrying the case couldn't be easier. The sturdy handle on the top is riveted to the case and provides a robust feel. For even more protection, the interior of the case is lined with a plush material which will cushion your violin. Inside the case are three more accessory pockets, two bow holders, and a hygrometer.
