Fender's classic yet seldomly seen Antigua finish returns for this special Jazz Bass model bass guitar. The distinctively shaded body hue originally debuted in the late 1960s and was briefly revived with a more pronounced green tint in 1977, where it first appeared on a Jazz Bass (on both body and pickguard). Antigua-finish Fender instruments have appeared sporadically since the late 1970s and are often classed as "rare finds" and are now prized by discerning collectors worldwide. This special-edition Antigua Jazz Bass is available in limited quantities and is an authentic evocation of one of Fender's most historically exclusive finish options.
The Fender Jazz Bass was first introduced in 1960 and its style was based directly on the Jazzmaster guitar, the original intention of Fender's mighty Jazz Bass was to persuade upright Bass players to switch to the Electric Bass format. After many iterations, Fender's Jazz Bass remains to this day, one of the world's most popular and distinctive Bass Guitar styles and is used by the likes of Rush's Geddy Lee and Blink 182's Mark Hoppus.
