Pair of Powerful EMG Pickups

This Signature Frank Bello Bass is powered by a pair of EMG pickups, consisting of an EMG PX in the neck and an EMG JX at the bridge. The EMG PX provides a diverse tonal palette for many different music styles, with excellent articulation, good low end punch and a rich tone with plenty of warmth. The EMG PX is paired with an EMG JX produces a jazzy bass sound, which adds extra dimension and clarity to the overall tone.

Lightweight Alder Body

Alder is a popular body tonewood due to its incredibly balanced tone, and great dynamic range which suits most musical styles. The alder body is lightweight and comfortable, making it a good choice for long gig nights or studio sessions. Its bright, sizzling highs, rounded lows, and beefy midrange give the J-4 Bass excellent tonality for different genres.

Maple Neck & Ebony Fingerboard

Maple necks are often used with bright body tonewoods like alder in order to achieve an overall bright and snappy sound. The Frank Bello J-4 Bass can therefore deliver those precise and clear tones for an ideal bass sound. The bolt-on maple neck is coupled with an ebony fingerboard, which brings a responsive, snappy attack to the overall sound.

Contrasting Red & Black Appearance

This Signature Frank Bello Bass Guitar has a sleek black satin finish for that classic dark metal look to match its sound. The bass features contrasting red pickup covers, binding and inlays for an eye-catching appearance.

Frank Bello is the energetic bassist of thrash metal icons Anthrax, who were considered to be the one of the leaders of the thrash metal scene in the 1980s. They have released 11 studio albums and Frank Bello was nominated for Best Bassist at the Loudwire Music Awards 2017. Bello has a widely respected and recognised style, sound and personality which is instantly recognisable.
