The Dean Thoroughbred Deluxe is a classic single cutaway design guitar with a mahogany body and maple top to create a resonant and vintage-inspired 6 string guitar. Featuring a 22 jumbo-fret rosewood fingerboard with modern 12" radius, a smooth access neck heel and a contoured body, the Thoroughbred offers a very modern playing experience for the left hand and is capable of technical solo work alongside busy rhythm playing. The pickups are designed to be particularly versatile, with a low-to-medium range output, and are capable of playing in lots of different musical genres. The Thoroughbred captures the essence of classic guitar design and blends it with a modern specification to give a stylish instrument with excellent playability.

Classic Good Looks Meets Modern Playability

The Dean Thoroughbred Deluxe combines vintage-inspired good looks with versatile humbucking pickups and a modern neck specification to create a guitar which gives you both classic aesthetics and a modern playability. The pickups allow for a wide range of tones, making this a guitar which is capable of many different musical genres.

USA DMT Equalizer & Nostalgia Pickups

Loaded with two USA designed DMT humbucking pickups, the Thoroughbred Deluxe delivers a medium-high output tone with great middle and treble response in the Equalizer bridge position. The Nostalgia neck pickup produces a very balanced tone with a distinct vintage flavour, perfect for classic rock and lead parts. Both DMT humbuckers feature Alnico 5 magnets and are perfect for a range of musical styles, cleaning up with a roll of the volume control and offering a well-rounded tonality.

Modern Neck Playability

The Thoroughbred Deluxe utilises a smooth heel set-in neck construction to provide an advanced playability and optimized resonance transfer between the neck and body. Unlike bolt-on constructions, set-in necks can be sculpted into a smoother and ergonomic heel allowing seamless accessibility to the higher register. The fingerboard features jumbo frets which make vibrato and string bends easier, while the flat 12" radius provides a very modern playability and is perfect for soloing.
